Stuart Frankel:

Stuart Frankel, the owner and founder of the company, brings over 40 years of personal real estate development experience in a wealth of areas.  During his career, Mr. Frankel has been directly responsible for the design, development and management of millions of square feet of space encompassing:  office, retail, industrial, research and development and multi-family residential.  Many of Mr. Frankel’s developments spanning several decades are still owned and managed by the company and he continues to expand the company’s holdings with new projects every year.  Some career highlights include:

  • 12 grocery anchored shopping centers encompassing over 2 million square feet.
  • 16 office and high tech developments totaling over 1.8 million square feet.
  • Over 1.5 million square feet of light manufacturing and warehouse distribution space.
  • Active roll in the planning, development and management of  Somerset Mall, Somerset Apartments, Somerset Plaza, Somerset Inn, the LaSalle building and an adjoining office complex.  The development of this project entailed 2,200 apartments, 300,000 square feet of retail, 900,000 square feet of office and a 250 room hotel in one of the most prominent areas in Southeastern Michigan.




Darren Frankel:

Darren Frankel, a principal of the Stuart Frankel Development Company, is directly responsible for the operation and expansion of the firm’s current portfolio as well as its new development initiatives in the southeast United States.  In addition, Mr. Frankel oversees and manages the firm's existing portfolio including P&L, marketing, lease administration and tenant build out.

Prior to his work at SFDCO, Mr. Frankel spent four years in New York City employed in a number of analytical capacities on Wall Street.  During that time, he helped to oversee a $100 Million risk arbitrage portfolio and close, in excess of, $1 billion of leveraged lease transactions.



Richard Cohen:

Richard Cohen, a principal in the company, is responsible for new project development and management focusing predominantly on new business in the southeastern United States.  Prior to joining the company, Mr. Cohen was a Finance Executive at TRW Automotive, Inc. (a Fortune 200 company) where he was the head of Global Real Estate and responsible for Corporate Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestitures.  Mr. Cohen brings over 15 years of financial/accounting and real estate acumen to Stuart Frankel Development Company.  During his career, Mr. Cohen has been directly responsible for a range of real estate endeavors including highlights below:

  • Direct responsibility for the oversight of 200 major sites totaling over 25 million square feet of space, operating in 24 countries.
  • The design and construction, management and business operations of over 750,000 square feet of sensitive data and paper processing centers across the United States.
  • The new development of approximately 15 different projects totaling over 2 million square feet of office, R&D and industrial space encompassing North America, Europe and Asia.
  • Overseeing and managing facility acquisition and disposition, including (as required) all lease and/or purchase negotiations, due diligence, site closures, environmental remediation and asset sales.
